I need a couple of sets of rosewood bridge pins, preferably unslotted. Alternatives offering similiar colour would also be ok. Does anyone know if I can get them in Australia? I know I can get them from LMI, but shipping costs more than the pins.

Gilet and Aust Luthier Supplies only seem to have plastic/bone/ebony, also no unslotted.Graham McDonald wrote:At least a coupler of the local wholesalers import ebony and rosewood bridge pins. Talk to you local guitar shop who can order them and haggle for a bit of a discount if you order a few dozen
cheers

I checked out Billy Hyde the other day. A 6-pack of ebony or rosewood pins ("Planet" brand) was $50-$60, and that didn't include a MOP dot. Also slotted.
I'm not being tight - I'll get the LMI ones if I have to - I just thought I would ask the question.
While I have plenty of wood, I only buy the bits and pieces like bridge pins, fret wire etc for the next 1 or 2 guitars, because I only make one every 6-8 months. I got caught out this time because I am making two in parallel and changed from ebony to cooktown ironwood for my fingerboard & bridge. i have also been educated on slotted bridges in the last 6 months.
But I think I'll take Bob up on his generous offer.
Thanks. Frank.
I got mine along with Bob and a few others. If you think that you're going to build more than one or two instruments, it's so much cheaper in the long run to buy in bulk. Bridge pins by the gross. Fret wire by the pound etc.
