Nice job Hank! :serg The baby's got nice strong shoulders, good proportions all round.
And Martin, I was thinking Bunya top too or Kauri (almost has that characteristic silking behind the bridge). The back's got the grain pattern of Mahog but a little too brown unless you've been rubbing stain into your babies bottom
& also the sides have a darker feature that you don't see in Mahogany, so I'm stuffed really, although.....I believe the neck is Mahogany.
I have a crack in my arse for a reason! it's to help me balance when I'm on the fence
Where's Bob when you need him?

Nice to hear in church but not in a Mexican prison.

Thanks guys, Father and baby are doing well,
Man what a buzz, i can't stop playing it,
The timber i've had for a couple of decades
Yes the neck is mahogany not sure which species, i'm thinking New Guinea (nasty rainforest stuff)
Back and sides are walnut maybe even Qld walnut?
Fretboard, bridge and purfurling are Maccassar Ebony (Bought a stick for a piece and over ordered)
Soundboard I think is Kauri?
Was worried that the soundboard might not work, but she sounds nice maybe a bit middy
thanks again for looking guys
cheers Hank

Hi Hank,
Welcome to the ANZLF
I edited your post so the images would run vertical down the page to save people needing to scroll back and forth, just a matter of hitting return after each insert.
Nice guitar, the back and sides look like kaya to me or plantation mahogany as you say from NG, the top I think you are on the moe with kauri, bunya has a distinctive wide grain as it is fast growing and also generally has a pink blush toward the heart. What ever it is it looks like you have done a great job of putting it all together.
EDIT: Apologies, the B/S could well be QLD walnut but looks kind of light to me, but then on this side of the island we don't get to handle it too much of that stuff so I am probably well off the mark.
Cheers
Kim

Wow Hank. I'm so pleased with how that turned out. Really great work, and the finish looks tops.
The top looks very much like Kauri to me. I've got a heap of it around here, and I've used it for linings and braces, but not tops. There is a fellow that I've given a couple of pointers to in Cairns that is building a small bodied acoustic with a Kauri top, and it looks pretty well spot on to yours.
Back and sides are Qld. Walnut if I had to bet the farm on it. It comes in all kinds of colors from very light tan to very deep chocolate brown.

Good on ya Hank. That looks like a great first up effort. It is a great feeling to finish an instrument. It is marvelous how much a new guitar can open up over the first few weeks of playing once everything settles in.
Congratulation mate, a fine job.
Cheers
