I've been cogitating!

Talk about musical instrument construction, setup and repair.

Nick bro I had the same experience with none of the acknowledgments that we have come to expect in the age of the I*ternet but they were in fact processing my order in a timely manner anyway.

Sometimes I forget that many of the vendors that we may use for the things that we consume in guitar building (not beer of course... :D ) are often mom & pop shops where these businesses are not even the primary thing that these folks do.

Interestingly though - over all and when I compare my level of satisfaction from dealing with guitar-stuff-related vendors to my general level of satisfaction in dealing with everything else that I buy in my life the guitar-stuff-vendors seem to do a great job of giving a damn about their clients.

This makes me think that we are fortunate and that the industry is "generally" pretty responsible.

Agree with you there Hesh! Not only the purchases but support is usually good too, it's not often you don't get an answer to a question within 24hrs. Infact I think I have received better service from the Mom & Pop operations simply because they realise that every customer is important to them. My 'day' job can be frustrating sometimes when you email a company that has sold us an expensive piece if kit, about a problem we might be having and they don't even care to reply
This was just a case of falling through the very small cracks & they apologised so all's good now. Wasn't as if it was important stuff like wood or beer that I ordered anyways 8)
I had a look at Tim McKnights site and he has his "hollowback" guitars which sound very similar to what I was thinking of in my original post. This theory/idea is tapping away inside my head (which has a very poor taptone co-incidentally) and I don't think it's going to go away until I do actually build it and prove to myself that it's a good one or absolute turkey of an idea. So looks like a case of "workbench here I come". Without seeing inside the box of one of Tim McKnight's I think I have a couple of twists that may make it slightly different so I can't be accused of copying, although I don't think his system is patented?
"Jesus Loves You."
Nice to hear in church but not in a Mexican prison.

Thanks for passing that on Allen, I think I've signed up to GAL  Apparently they don't send out email confirmations once you've signed up and there has been no charge against my credit card or latest mag so I may have to email them to see I am actually signed up! The articles look very informative and the mags look like keepers.
Nick, youll eventually get some guff in the mail including a membership certificate. Sometimes Bon and co are busy at GAL and it takes a bit of time for things to start rolling. Just send Bon an email (Bon@luth.org) if youre concerned things arent happening.

Cheers Martin
