Oh Localele, where was your brilliance last week? I spend $50 for two PSA disks.

Did you have any problems with the dishes warping when you sealed them?

Hello Lillian, No trouble there .I sprayed them with about 4 coats of Nitrocellulose lacquer on both sides. They are made out of Moisture Resistant MDF.Did your large discs fit into the shape alright ? I was wondering if they stretch to conform tho the spherical contour.Cheers.

Mine are plain MDF. They feel fuzzy where they were cut. I'll seal them with sanding sealer, unless someone tells me otherwise.

The disks haven't arrived yet. The vendor took a couple of days before shipping and since they went UPS, it takes a week to get from the East Coast to the West Coast, barring any snow storms in between.

Hadn't thought about air pockets. I'm thinking that it might be helpful to cut the protective backing in half and peel one side off first, get it set and then peel the other side off.

I use the large 24" disks for floor sanders on mine. They're paper backed and I just sprayed 3M spray adhesive on both surfaces. No problem at all with the disk taking the shape of the dish. They've been on there for 2 years now without needing to be replaced.

My dishes are the standard 19 mm MDF that I doubled up on for stability. Then a few coats of shellac.
