Back to work

Post by kiwigeo » Fri Dec 05, 2008 8:27 pm

Well Ive had 3 months off the rigs now and quite frankly Im more than ready to head back to work. I ship out to Perth and straight up to Broome on Sunday and then its 2 1/2 hours sitting in a chopper out to the rig on monday.

Didnt get alot of guitars built during my time off.....the boss tightened up the thumbscrews and made me do the lounge renovation that Ive been putting off for 5 years. Shes happy with the results of same so I can look forward to a few months of doing what I like in the workshop while Im home.

Cheers Martin

Hope the time on the rig flies for you Martin, I do know that you will still drop in but I am sure we will all miss your more regular participation we have enjoyed for the last 3 month.

Cheers

Kim

A tempting thought Bob but theres a 10kg baggage limit on the helicopter.....were 500km out from Broome which is at the limit of the chopper's range. we also have to carry reserve fuel in case of bad weather. Im already pruned back to two pairs of overalls, my boots and a couple of pairs of socks and jocks.

Good to hear you're back out there. Lets face it, You need the work cos there's still more tonewood out there to buy in the future and I'm sure you've got a few places you could stash 'em.

This could be a great time to take aboard some shell, a jewellers saw, a couple of files and come up with some well crafted inlay designs in your spare time.
After all it is as lightweight as you could possibly get.

cheers, Stu

Do you have a camera with ya? If so folks like me who are clueless about rigs would really enjoy seeing some pics please?
