Flattop to Resonator Guitar Conversion

You may wonder why one would convert a perfectly good flat top electric acoustic to a resonator guitar, why not just go out and buy one as this is not the cheapest option, or is it?

Well in this case my customer had certain needs in the guitar he wanted and to get them all was out of his budget. What he wanted was a resonator guitar that was left handed, cutaway, 14 fret to the body and had pick ups. Oh, and all hardware had to be gold plated.

He had heard that I build, among other instruments, resonator guitars and put the project to me. After some thought and trying to visualise the procedure I put to him that yes I would do the job but that we would both be taking a gamble on the out come. He agreed to be my guinea pig, and agreed to my estimate for the job. As mentioned he could have bought one of the rack if his criteria had not been so strict.

Looks cool Taffy. What sort of top is it. The wood looks like Bobs Captain Cook guitar. Is it hardwood?

Neat project Taffy, I like the way you've used the remains of the rosette as a feature,
