Good to see and hear it finished Craig. Thanks for taking the time and making the effort to document this build. Looking forward to the next one.

Re: Canberra Modal Tuning Course

It was a great weekend, my brain is a bit fried at the moment but hopefully all the knowledge that was rammed in will be retained enough to be put to good use. Another big thanks to Dom for not only hosting the course but for giving me a room for the weekend ( in his mighty impressive wood room no l...

Very nice Paul, the lack of adornment really suits that body shape IMO, looks like a real working musos instrument.

Re: Guidence needed for a new member

Eric, my pipe is just a leftover length of 2" water pipe that I found at work ( pretty much all my jigs, moulds and templates have come from leftovers and offcuts from work :D ). It's only about 6"s long, which is not long enough for guitar sides once you clamp it in a vice, but I only use it for bi...

Re: Guidence needed for a new member

The Jigs and Fixtures section here is a great place to start if you want to DIY a lot of your equipment. There are plans and ideas for lot of very useful jigs to be found in there ( there's a lot of smart cookies on this forum who are happy to share their ideas). A basic bending pipe can be made wit...

Hi Nick, I think the thread you are thinking of was started by ozwood. I dont know how to link to a thread from here but if you check his profile it's under his most posted thread.

Lovely job there Archie, I particularly like the headstock with the blackwood / she-oak sandwich, looks very classy. I've got some she-oak from Tim for my next build and this is making me very eager to get going with it.

Re: Raven baritone ukelele

When I was building my first guitar with Chris Wynne at Thomas Lloyd guitars last year Pete brought this Uke (then unfinished ) in to show us. Having seen it first hand I have to say it is absolutely stunning and the craftsmanship in the bindings, rosette, end graft etc is truly incredible. I would ...

Thanks guys, Yeah he's pretty happy with it, he only started playing just before christmas so he's happy to have something nice to learn on. As for No3, I just got a shipment of wood from Tim S so it's mighty tempting to hook straight in but I've got some reno's to do around the house first ( so the...

I've just finished a love job Uke for my brother, so having someone at least buying the timber, especially some really nice sassafras like that, sounds like a pretty good deal to me. :D

Re: Time for a drum sander

Just picked up a 10/20 for $750 which seems a fair price but it was on evil bay so will have to wait and see when I pick it up. thanks everyone for your input especially Paul (Ozwood) for letting me come down and have a look at his set up ( he 's a real nice guy with a really well organized shed). Re: Shipping a Strat from Melbourne to Adelaide

I had a Strat shipped from Perth to Newcastle via Aus post a couple of years ago, from memory it was around 50 - 60 dollars and took about 5 days to arrive. It was in a hard case with bubble wrap and cardboard around that and it arrived safe and sound.
Congrats btw

Re: Steph's Tiger Tenor Uke

It's coming along nicely, I'm looking forward to seeing it finished, tiger myrtle is one of the most striking timbers imho. I also done the binding's on a tenor uke today and some purfling would have been very helpful, I've got some gaps you could lose your arm in, nothing a couple of sticks of wax ...

Re: Time for a drum sander

Thanks all for the quick replies. I guess I am leaning more toward the 10/20 mainly because of the of their reputation for build quality but the carbatec machine is good value.
Thanks for the offer Paul that would be really helpful. I'll send you a PM with my details. Cheers
