Re: Huon Pine & Tassy Mrytle Acoustic Bass

Looks amazing Trent. Recently I had an enquiry from a local music shop that was interested in the falcate bracing idea for a bass guitar just like your posting. I be interested to know how it sounds and your comments on building / design aspects.

Re: Still not getting the sound I want...help!!

Hi Dave I would also recommend that you should use T&G book methods. To help you using visual analyser Trevor / Robbie O'Brian has produced a video set that demonstrates how to setup and use these methods. I purchased the videos online from Robbie O'Brian and found this very helpful when setup the c...

Hey Wayne, Looks and sounds great./quote]

Thanks for the comments about the falcate guitar build.

When playing single lead notes with this guitar, I like how full and rich in clarity they are. Looking forward to the next falcate build.

First Falcate Guitar build

8O3JYp6vjtQ This is my first 'Falcate' braced guitar build (12th fret at the body joint) that I started building January 2020 and completed two weeks ago. I did enjoy the challenge creating jig frames for the 'Primary' and 'Secondary' braces. First time working carbon fibre and using the 'West' epo...

Re: Classical Build (s) - Hopefully falcate!

Great to see you keeping up the various challenges as you progress. I used 'Adirondack Spruce' for my braces. The secondary braces were a little more difficult to bend. I did break one laminate. I then had to be more careful and patience when using the bending iron for the secondary brace bends. I w...

Re: Changes to Reg of International Trade in CITES

I received my 10 Rosewood Bridge Blanks that I ordered with free shipping arrangements, 5th December 2019. from 'Stewmac'. This order was made when 'Stewmac' removed their export restriction on rosewood items for a short period in early December 2019. 'Stewmac' has re-introduced the export ban again...

Re: Changes to Reg of International Trade in CITES

When I looked at 'Stewmac's' website, 5th & 6th December 2019, their website did not display a restriction on exporting Rosewood Bridge blanks or Rosewood Back & Sides. On the 6th December 2019, I placed an order for some Rosewood Bridge Blanks. I received an email 6th December 2019, from 'Stewmac' ...
