Hi Dominic, Blackheart Sassafras is prone to fungal staining particularly where there is moisture and little air movement. The wood was actually a beautiful cream colour in the areas adjacent to the heart staining. However the fungal activity moved through the material rapidly. If I had any control ...

The wood is Bocote. I am planning to get several sets of this in a month or two.

Hi Dominic, Just an observation about the joining of the upper and lower steel sheets: Have you made sure that there is a bit of relief at the end just in case the side material needs to moves towards the end a little when you complete the bend? I was thinking that the material might have a tendency...

During the convention builders has an opportunity to have their instruments played one after the other to allow all those present to compare volume, tone etc. All the guitars including the unusual shaped one sounded very responsive. I didn't get an opportunity to takes images of the classical guitar...
