Re: merbau for fingerboard
Welcome to the forum scuffle. My experience with Kwila has been all good. Lovely tap tone, glues and finishes well. I use it for 1 piece eub necks and laminated body rests. I just used a bit for 3 cbg U Bass necks. My only complaint is the yollow flec in the pores. More prominent on some boards less...

Well done Jeff, you must be very chuffed! That would probably work well with one guitar. Call me a heathen but I'd like to hear it thru an amp as well.

I should add. The goanna label will be on the head and as a back strap.

Re: What's happening in your shed?
I have a lot on at the moment. 3 U Basses. I'm waiting for the artwork. One of the fellas from OzBass is a graphic/tattoo artist. I told him I wanted "Goanna Brand Cigars" with federation styling, gold medals from Paris and Rome and a big goanna. The label folds over the angled side. Another 13in ar...

Markus, your way too modest. These days an artist doesn't have to make anything, they just keep the ideas coming.

Nice design Marcus. I have to agree, it's very hard to resist marking anything that doesn't move.

Re: Tenor questions
Nick, I used the small pultruded rod from LMI on my box tenor. I had to shave the neck to get some relief. It's a 17 fret
body join. I used D'Addario Irish Banjo strings, GDAE. I've yet to put on proper tenor guitar strings on yet, I'll probably
have too much relief. Nothing like a 2 way rod.

Re: Shielding on electric guitars.
The adhesive on copper tape is conductive, the adhesive on aluminium is not. I use a small strip of copper to bridge any joins.

Nice Pete, I use a gas bottle, it can't be too hot. Mine is blacksmith made , the size of a guitar pick, a square over a round and a round over a square. My initials bP , used for my furniture, tools and inside the closed box, visible with my signature. I inlay the logo on the headstock, the only in...

Re: Knives on the cheap.
Nice Taff,
I didn't start out to collect user made and modified tools but I have a box full. Most of those knives would fit right in.
It's a cheap hobby because I'm the only guy that wants tools like that. To me they are the good, goods.

Keep 'em coming Paul. Nothing like ridicule to get at the truth. Strange times when two comedy shows, The Daily Show and
The Colbert Report, are at or near the top of the news credibility heap in the US for many folks.
