I gobsmacked myself because you usually need a block plane for this after wetting the end grain.
This thing did it dry.
I’ve never heard of wetting end grain. Can you expand on that a bit Pete?

Re: Rope bindings advice please

If you are confident with HHG, I would use that. The chain link purfling above is 3mm thick and was made with titebond and bent without any problem on an iron with no water involved.

Re: Rope bindings advice please

Re: Tapping boards!

As others have said, the books provide principals that apply to more than just guitars. You don't need to understand all the math to understand the principals. The math is there to prove an show what underpins the principal in case you want to test them. Which I believe has been done a number of tim...

Re: What am I doing here?

Call it what you will, no offence taken. G'zouki maybe :D We're not dogmatic or tradition-bound at the BGMS. The nut, neck, strings etc measurements were taken from an Irish bouzouki the student owned and liked the feel of, rather than a Greek bouzouki. The student was heavily influenced by Nigel's ...

Re: What am I doing here?

We recently had a student finish a "Queensland" bouzouki at the BGMS. It was guitar-shaped, falcate braced made of silver quandong and mango wood
