Re: Enlarging the kerf in Linings
Interesting. I had a go at double kerfing to go around a Venetian bend on my current build with ok success. Might keep this in mind next time

Re: Blackwood Uke with Cutaway Scoop
Beautiful as usual Alan, I love the richness of the sequoia .
I have a scoop cutaway on my list too, although I think the lutherie community missed the opportunity in naming the cutaway after an Italian city. A Genoan cutaway for example.
Any tips now that you have done one?

Re: Counter sinking bolts BO/BO fretboard extension
Thanks Steve, but I'm just following the instructions that Trevor & Gerard lay down in there book. I don't mind the idea of some wooden bolt heads, maybe on the next one.
Thanks Trevor & dobot. I will give making a bit out of a spade bit or bolt.

Counter sinking bolts BO/BO fretboard extension
Hi, Yesterday, installed t-nuts and bolted the fretboard extension, which left like a milestone I was pretty happy about. BOBO neck ext.jpg However as the head block plate is 45mm deep, you can easily see the bolt head through the sound hole, which I am unhappy about. I have used M5 bolts/t-nuts but...

Re: How to Repair Truss Rod Rattle
Wow, ok so when gluing the fretboard on, I have been fussing over not getting glue on the trussrod or in the channel. So there isn't a problem with glue and the trussrod?

Re: Books for Christmas
Should you stop building until you get them? I would say no, because you are not going to exercise every idea in the books on your first build. You are already thinking about number two and three, so they can represent the evolution of your ideas and learning. You will still have the ability to do ...

Arm bevel and target thickness calculations
Hi All, I am thinking of including a arm bevel al a Kent Everett and been trying to think through the processes. I had done target thickness calculations for the sound board on the full plantilla, but now I am thinking I need to deduct the net width (less the normal lining thickness) of the bevel fr...
