i'm 99 percent certain of that Martin, just trying to sort out how it's going to get there without contravening any laws.

Shipping to theUSA
Iv'e looked at some of the posts regarding overseas shipping and it looks like Pack Send is the preferred option, i'm just wondering if there's any other Govt fees or charges to be aware of, is the a value ceiling before they kick in? Thanks for any help!

Re: packaging tape for binding
I like the orange tape from Stumc, pretty strong.
I always give the spruce tops a bit of shellac sealer to protect from tear out I also use a heat gun on very low to soften the adhesive a bit when pulling the tape off. I also use rubber bands along with the tape when needed

Re: How do I fix this wavy side..
If you flattened the side sufficiently but it ended up a bit too thin you could laminate another thin layer inside.

Re: shed insulation
I’m in Melbourne and I insulated my atmospheric controlled room ( a 3x3 m colourbond shed with pitch d roof) with CSR foilboard, comes in several thicknesses from 10mm up to 30mm I think, then I lin Ed over with 6mm msg, very effective.

Re: Semihollow fifteen inch
I’m still hopeful of keeping this thread wholly and solely about the titled build, so a couple of pics will show the closed body with binding and roughly shaped pickup mounting rings from the offcuts of a he plates. At this stage it has had two grainfill sessions completed and is ready for some fini...

Re: New toy
Yeah I’m pushing it for space too, I recently had a bit of a reshuffle to make more bench space but I’m going to mount this on a mobile stand so I can move it around if I need to, wanted one of these for years , I think I’m at my limit now!!!

Just keep in mind that you don’t want to glue up a sanded edge,,, needs to be clean, planed, scraped or cleaned of any dust

Re: Back joint prep
Most people take their stock down to about 4mm and then join them with the help of a shooting board , with 20mm stock I would chuck it in a vice and plane it that way, sounds to me your technique might need some attention ie,,, be sure to have the sole of the plane hard against the stock at all time...

Re: Hollowbody electric
This is stunning work, very in keeping with what we expect to see on this forum. And it sounds absolutely lush. Well done. I have two questions if you don't mind about the design. Why did you use plastic pickup holders, why didn't you use the Blackwood for them instead? The necks on archtop guitars...
