Re: Go bar setup

I have to agree with Jim, you might need another layer up top. The only possible issue I see with the rods might be the tips. If they have silicone in them, it might contaminate the wood. You can do a test on a piece of wood by leaving it clamped up over night and then putting a finish on. If you ge...

Re: Work Bench

I'm seriously contemplating this one. http://www.shopnotes.com/plans/small-workbench/ I think it's large enough for guitar bodies. But its not so massive that it takes up all the floor space and I lose things on it. It'll have enough weight to stay put while I plane. I like the integrated vises and ...

Re: Happy Birthday Lillian.

Thanks Clancy. Had a great time. We went down to the beach in Oregon for the weekend. It was great to get away from everything. My laptop died the day before we left, so I now have a new one. Happy birthday to me. I love it. It has a back lit keyboard and great graphics. But let me just say, I hate ...

Thanks guys. You all make me smile. I do love celebrating my birthday twice, once with my favorite guys and then again here. They are still out there. They are also called gunstock carving vise. Quick search I found these. Garrett Wade is partial to theirs. I'd almost say emotionally attached. $159.65 Woodcraft has one $134.99 Woodworking Supply also has one. $123.99 I recently picked this one up when it was on sale. I di...

Dennis, my wife is the manager of a bookshop in Seattle. They routinely ship worldwide. They only ship USPS. There have been too many issues using any of the other guys. Up to 4lbs they ship it First Class. Over 4 lbs, it has to be Priority. I know that one point they were thinking about getting an ...

Col, I understand you not being comfortable with the top and wanting to go with something you trust Just don't toss the top. There's nothing really wrong with it. And who knows what you'll want to do in a few months. You might decide to make another guitar, maybe a smaller bodied guitar. Maybe an OO.

I had heard that they had to add another color to the temp map because it had gotten a might bit warm down there. I didn't realize that it had gotten so warm in the studio that your meteorologist has to strip off.

That's hot.
