Good onya x-ray

I'm doing it again this year in conjunction with all the other tradie's at work, mind you things have progressed from past years into us doing more 'radical' mo designs. It's become a comp for the funkiest mo. 8)

Sheesh, you sure it ain't photoshopped?

And commiserations to you Paul. That really bites the big one.
I'm doubly sickened by the outright denial of the incident.

Thanks for that fellas. I won't be spraying this stuff at all, definitely not worth the risks involved. Whenever I use or think about using epoxy, Kim's sorry tale always pops in the head. Must now be a word association thing. Back to the old methods anyway. Next question .......................

Is westsystems epoxy sprayable?

I'm in the refinish stages of a neck through Gibson firebird with Blackwood neck & body and tiger myrtle carve top and using epoxy as a grainfiller . I have applied enough for levelling off the grain and pores with a few rub throughs here and there. Now this is on a cumbersome neck through electric ...

I'm sceptical about this. I'm certain these George Washington blokes actually got their names changed by deed poll.

G'day Brian,
This one's looking a treat so far, and good to hear you're getting a little extra time in the new workshop.
The shape reminds me a little of a Tokai Talbo body shape, although
they were aluminium.

My understanding of why some luthiers also sell timbers to others through their website is to onsell the stuff that they won't use or won't build with. Call it opportunity grade or not labelled at all, that is how I see it. Wouldn't you keep the best stuff for your custom built guitars and your buil...

The Qld maple prices on ALS don't add the GST and post until you buy.
$170 becomes closer to $210 in reality.

There's one other Aussie timber for bodies that slipped my mind in the last post that will get you close and that would be something similar to Tassie oak /mountain ash. Find something nice and light or chamber the Bajeezus out of it. Either way it'll give you more top end than most other Aussie Ele...

G'day Cameron, If you use Qld maple that will get you somewhere between your alder and mahogany in sound. Definitely more sparkle then mahogany. I've heard a few Telecaster styled guitars made by Ray at Carlton guitars with their bodies made from Myrtle and they sat pretty close to what you're talki...

Hey Rod. I use the LMII aniline dyes and do bursts after a few light coats of nitro. If I'm going for a really lightweight transparent burst I'll mix the dye in with a thinned nitro mix and shoot it that way. If I require a very dark and nearly full colouring I'll use less nitro,( to negate extra bu...

I tried the Stewmac wheels a few years back and haven't used them since. I found them too slow and cumbersome. I'm doing the same method similar to Allen but using an Automotive buffer/polisher and buff pad. I use an old , worn buff pad which gets pulled out for this purpose alone. I won't be going ...

Just to clarify that this is verbatim from Ubeaut and not Martin's writings. Doesn't read how Martin would write anyhow. (No kiwi accent) I'm guessing Sth. G'day Cam.

I've heard of it being done with great success, but that's where my knowledge on the matter ends. Dan Erlewine did a column on this very subject and talked about cow bones for making nuts.
