Jokidding, I hope we haven't scared you off. I'm sorry I sent your thread a bit sideways. It's nothing personal, it just happens around here.

Re: Racking my wood

Why thank you gentlemen. A girl doesn't always hear such compliments. I figured this was about the only way I could compete with Martin and Kim. That stack is all seasoned alder. It's great for cooking and for heating. I was told it would be really nice if I'd smoke dinner with some chips nex...

Re: Racking my wood

Martin is right, you'll need more space than you thought you would. I spent all day racking wood. And I have more to do tomorrow. I won't get another rack built tomorrow it the rain shows up they are forecasting, but we'll see. http://i879.photobucket.com/albums/ab358/Aoibeann/015.jpg http://i879.ph...

Yngwie: the Godfather of Neo Classical guitar http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQ_S-2FDHyU Shredding and classical are about as compatible as a fart in a space suit. Purely personal taste of course but for me listening to Yngwie destroy a piece of classical music is about as pleasurable as eating dog...

Re: Scraper

From what I got out of their instructions was that the ever so slight hollow grind gave you burrs of sorts. But I think you are right, as long as there is a clean edge that it will cut those beautifully fine strips of wood without too much hassle. I'll probably just need to square it and polish it. ...

Re: Scraper

I must say I'm liking the scrapers. I was able to start cleaning up the neck/heel transition area. My only concern is being able to resharpen them. They require a grinder to get the hollow grind. I'm going to have to puzzle out a solution for that. Don't want to buy another piece of equipment if I c...

The wallet is now a bit lighter, but the scrapers are on their way. Hopefully I can use these easier than a card scraper in a holder.
Thanks for the heads up.

Re: FYI....White pencils

The awkward part is when something arrives on the doorstep and the wife asks, "so what did you get now?" and I can't remember what it was that I ordered. She's used to the um's I offer as an answer and just laughs at me. ADD and old age really do a number on the memory.

Re: Failed Bridge

If the glue is allowed to get close to freezing (below 45*F if I remember correctly) during transport it will break down and leave a chalky residue. And unfortunately there is no way to tell if it was or not. The only way to tell is to glue something up and test it.

Fran and JB watched a DHL guy drop their books on the ground from the back of the truck, breaking open the box. When he brought them in they said they wouldn't take them (there are first editions, collectables) because they were damaged. Driver said that's the way they were sent. And started to get...

Re: What the F*%kin hell??!!!

No worries Paul. I understand where you are coming from. The publishing houses stopped using DHL in less a year of giving them a go. Totally mistreated the books. Fran and JB watched a DHL guy drop their books on the ground from the back of the truck, breaking open the box. When he brought them in t...
