Bridges..How to?

I'm about to bombard you all with various questions regarding bridges ..I am nearing this stage and need to research ..and what better place than here. My main concern is intonation...I don't want it to be close ..I want it to be spot on. Which leads me to think maybe cutting the saddle slot after t...

How thick is the filler piece Grant? And how much 'meat' is left below the bottom of the truss rod channel? I drew up a scale drawing of my no.1 before commencing on the neck, and I've initially drawn my truss rod cavity to the exact depth of the rod. Mainly because I'm nervous of stuffing up the n...

Truss-rod channel woes

Following on from the Epoxy thread.....and you can probably ignore that one now as I will most definitely have to put in a filler piece.. Problem is how? First the problem:- The slot is not deep enough and the truss-rod adjustment cannot be accessed through the soundhole because its not low enough t...

I can't see why you would want to bond the rod to the walls of the slot. If it fits neatly in the slot, ie doesn't slop around at all - contacting along its entire length top and bottom, it depends on being able to flex a little to work. Just put it in and glue the fingerboard on. cheers graham now...

thanks for all the advice everyone. I may be crazy but have routed the slot so the truss-rod is flush with the neck and no filler piece. It does fit very flush so I'm hoping with some tension on the rod that no rattles will occur. So, to clarify ...I will only be using whatever product I choose on t...

Epoxy

I want to buy some epoxy to install my truss-rod into the channel. I don't really want to buy a large quantity like the West systems. because its the only part of the build I need epoxy for.. Does anyone know of a suitable brand that maybe does a syringe style that measures the right amount of A and...

I was pretty happy that I didn't have to ...

It's got lots of great pics of your incredible collection of works. I've always thought your selection of timber and appointments is always been very tasteful.
I think you'll have no problem drumming up even more business with a website like that..

Lmi have dropped their price and its now about $175US which includes the template for slot positions.. The stewmac one is about $90US + $40US for the template... anyone had any experience with...

Welcome Craig,
I'm sure you could teach us a few things about the art of a fine coffee and I'm sure in return the fine folk here will pass on some knowledge to you on the art of lutherie.
Make 'em a strong coffee , that'll get 'em talking.
