How many countries fumigate material going OUT of the country. Seems a bit pointless if you ask me as most countries will fumigate unprocessed wood coming IN to the country. Doesnt seem very consistant that they get all concerned about exporting nasty wood eating bugs to other countries but there ar...

Second, I know it's charitable to post information about other builders, but I'm not sure that it's appropriate on a commercial website to point people to competitors. Much better to have a link to my weblog....once people have had a few minutes viewing my awful creations theyll be flocking back to...

Thanks Craig,

Im leaning towards the shared pin bridge. Ive already got a 5mm wdie saddle blank ready go. The wider saddle gives one more to play with when compensating and its said that the transmission of the sound from string to soundboard is improved with a bigger saddle footprint.

Hi Craig, This guitar has been a bit of a wild child. I stuffed up on my first attempt at making the fretboard......once Id got the dovetail M and T joint done the length of the neck had shortened by a significant amount requiring construction of a new fretboard. My current headache is deciding on w...

I take a very complicated high tech approach...I divide the fretboard into thirds and then run 9", 12" and 16" radius sanding blocks over the fretboard from the nut end.

Okay Lads (and Gal),

I've just paid Lillian for the screws. When Lillian gets the goods and ships them off Ill square her up for freight and paypal charges. Ill then sting you for reimbursement.

$US154.39 worked out at $Aus 163.19.

You must be a master of that dovetail joint now Martin. Nice looking package your building there. I didn't know that there was a preferred way to bind a fret board. I haven't seen the Mayer's DVD's, so can you enlighten those of us that have been stumbling around in the shop trying to get them to l...

Kim,

I use my Trend T5 router and the Stewmac cutter/bearing set.....probably not the best way to do it but it works.

This is my first attempt at a bound fretboard. The binding is stock standard Stewmac maple binding and the method is as on John Ma...
