Bob,
Making multiple parts not only saves time with setups, but as you say
allows the neck blanks to season better that way. And now we know we will see at least 20 more guitars from you. :D

Dave, This is a great execise in ear training, and by the way all four guitars sound real nice! And of course, your wonderful playing. I found it easy to hear both the small box of the parlour guitar and the cedar/maple GC. What was hard, was too decide which one was the fan fret euro. I cheated I w...

Bob,
3 Cheers! The first for the astonishing grain in that backset, the 2nd for the workmanship on the inside of that guitar, and 3rd that it is a small body guitar. I think I would like to see the curly for bindings.

Allen,
I like the way the spalted rosettes look on both tops. Good thing you told us that is spalted avocado, I thought it was spalted maple. You learn something every day. Is that one of your local woods? Great job!

Hesh,
This is my favorite Heshtone to date. Subtle beauty that I find pleasing.
I have come to expect this quality of design and work from you, so no surprise there. But I still find myself needing to say, impressive!

Serge, A 24.9" scale is only 1/2" shorter than a 25.34" (25.4) scale. This is only about 5 lbs less of string pull, if you are using light gauge strings. Yes the 12 fret neck is a bit stiffer than a 14 fret neck but in time the neck can still bow forward. Many of the old parlour guitars I have repai...

You make it hard for me to decide what I like better, the guitar or your playing. Both are great! I always enjoy seeing the variety of your builds.
Sure is nice to be able to hear the results you achieve. First rate!

Jaz,
Both cellos look quite impressive, I have always been a fan of the cellos melodic voice. What a joy it must have been to have them both singing to you from a stage. What a great reward! Congratulations!

Very nice looking guitar! A big thumbs up on your rosette and choice of your tonewood combo. Black walnut is a great tonewood, I feel it is one of those try it and you'll like types of wood. Nice work!

Looking good! The combination of the EIR/coral snake purfling/ and snakewood bindings sure give that guitar a classy look. And yes the rosette and snakewood peghead face ties it all together. I like it!

Hi Ron
That sure is a nice looking guitar. The curly white oak sure stands out well with the Tru-oil finish. How many coats to get that great shine?
What did you use as a pore filler?
I really like those bloodwood position dots and tuner buttons.

Since I started with HHG since my first build 38 yrs ago, no dispute from me on its merits. As others have said here, you have to follow the rules with HHG, but once you get it is easy.Titebond works well, but cure time to reach full hardness can take weeks. (or longer) Sure for most woodworking 12 ...
