Re: Spear Fishing
Its great fun isnt it. Can get very expensive. It is more comfortable to have your weightbelt on the front but if you do pass out you will lay face down. You want it so that if you pass out your head will still be out of the water. Superfrog (EDGE) make probably the best rail guns. And they are Aust...

Re: Potentially disasterous end to the year
A good one is a LED in the power plug. That way you can see its on, if your working late its so obvious.
If its a solid colour one just cut it off and replace it with a waterproof screw on one.
How much wood do you have it will burn for a few days?
We need some photos of your stash.

Re: Duplicator arrives next week
I'm a bit confused do you plan on using the duplicator to duplicate bridges or do you use the laser scanner and CNC router for that. Carve tops and arch tops can be done on the duplicator. I've wondered how they would go for inlaid headstock logos. Weather or not there would be tight enough toleranc...

Re: Amplification
You dont have to have the cable coming out the sound hole, you can fit a jack that doubles as a strap lock.
I like the idea of the mixing.

Amplification
Hi All, Just wondering what pickups you are using in your acoustics and what amps you are running them through. Big fan of sound hole pickups simply because they can easily be taken out and do not involve and modification to the guitar. M1 and M1A. Probably not the most natural but if thats whats so...

Re: "The Shed" guitar
Trevor,
Going by what you say about eliminating the difference between wood species what is your preferred wood choice?
Other than getting very consistent guitars do you think it makes them sound better?

The suhr recordings seem to demonstrate that the neck and to a lesser extent the body does make a bit of difference.
I will have to listen on some better speakers.

Electric body timbers
Hi All, Would love to hear some opinions on electric body timbers. It seems there are two camps those that say timbers on electrics have little or NO effect on an electric and those that say it makes all the difference. Acoustic guitars have come a long way in the last 60 years regarding timber choi...

Re: Attempting a re fret.
Hard to tell but you might get away with a fret dress. More then likely. You cut them a bit over length. Press or hammer them in and then snip them a tad over length then file to size then bevel. When snipping them dont snip up and down, snip from the sides. Up and down pulls the frets up. Be carefu...

Re: 'Z' Poxy
I have found penetrating epoxy or thinned epoxy doesnt penetrate anymore than normal epoxy unless the wood is rotten. Surfboard epoxy would probably be best for gap filling wood as its clear, has decent UV resistance and if you have a board maker locally they would sell you enough to do a few guitar...
