By the way, I highly recommend using a vertical mill to do saddle slots if you can borrow the use of one at a machine shop. Hi Hesh ! The newer one - 30.5 gr. and the antique - 28.4 I am going to sand it a bit smaller around the lower"bulge". Yes,thats the plan to have the pins match the slot, not straight where they are more prone to crack. I used to have them in a semi circle(smile) shape. Good to see you on the forum H...

Thanks Lillian and Rick. Yes,I should have drew more accurate lines on them. I wouldn't rout them that close to the edge.
I usually have 1/4"or better of meat in front of the saddle. I have heard of tilting the saddle back like you say Rick.
It sounds like a good idea.

Thanks Steve! No problem with the T.R. length on this neck.14 fret to the bod. and it is a shorter rod. Yeah,I like the access hole a little smaller as you noticed and the wrench fits in nicely too. I wanted to ask you what you think about using magnets for this.Have you tried it before?? It's a tad...

Magnatized truss rod cover...

Hi guys and girls, I am just finishing a new headstock and T.R. cover with magnets instead of a screw hold downs. I like this way much better! The magnets are strong and the cover snaps right in to place. Any of you guys here use magnets for this too ? http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s145/DaveAnd...
