Fret hammer

The missus ran over my stew mac hammer.
Anyone know where i can buy a cheapish <$40 fret hammer (or brass faced hammer) from locally? Even second hand will do.
Not having much luck outside of the US retailers and coping high postage costs.

Re: Router?

If you cant justify the expense of a bandsaw, find someone locally who has one and offer them $5 to use it. This is what i do.

Re: Western Red Cedar for bracings?

I've heard WRcedar is a 9 (where spruce is a 10). No personal experiences though.

Re: anyone know this make of guitar - Lyric?

I may be way off, but i vaguely remember hearing about a "lyric guitar company" that made classical guitars prior to WW1. Could this guitar be of that vintage?

Re: asymmetrical body shape on ukuleles?

As Allen said, very few instruments would actually be symmetrical. Especially hand made ones.

Re: newcomer and bunnings guitar

Thanks guys. I just checked my local bunnings. They only have pine and tas oak. The biggest pieces of tassie oak they stock are 40mm x 18mm so not big enough. Anyone know of a decent timber supplier in the newcastle area? Ps. Ive already done a 'dumpster' solid body. Wanting to try a hardware store ...

newcomer and bunnings guitar

Hi all. Newbie from Newcastle here. Just an amateur luthier, almost finished making my first steel string acoustic. Have made a bunch of solid bodies over the years. Anyway, just going to throw this out there - has anyone made a guitar purely out of timber from bunnings? As a fun/strange project im ...
