Hi
Ive just had my workshop taken over .........................by my son, I seem to be relegated to sharpening tools
So this interest must be contagious
I guess there is worse things he could be doing ........like getting a paying job ??

Hi Shawn
Robbie Obriens online course is really good
really good value compared to what you may end up spending on wood ,tools etc
and it is so much easier seeing someone do something while hes explaining it instead of just reading about it

Ive just ordered some colourtone stains from stew mac which I should get tomorrow if their usual shipping is anything to go by so I will experiment and let you know

I would say the shaft will be hardened so you will probably need to find someone with a milling machine to do the holes
wouldnt be expensive

Ive used jarrah a couple of times for binding and centre strips in necks and never had an issue with bleeding , but this thread interests me as I have just used a red veneer in a headstock and although it didnt bleed into the other woods it was only luck that it was sandwiched between a couple of fa...

Re: Sound Ports
Ive seen discussed various methods of determining the size
some people go on infinitum about it needing to get it worked out to the square root of a gnats arse
I prefer the school of thought that says if you want one just put it in how you want.

Hi Nick
I will be watching this with great interest as I have this urge to build an archtop
infact Ive just been building a mould and bending patterns that I can hopefully use for a flat top or archtop
but looking at this maybe a semi hollow would satisfy my........ "cravings "
