You have every right to be so proud Hesh !
Let's face it , that's quite an achievement . All those beautiful guitars lined up , carefully skilled by yourself. Superb mate !
Cheers , Craig

Sounds like you guys had a good yarn and a few laughs I'll bet. It's great to put a voice to the written word . Mathew , I've been using those tip cleaners for a long while now. They don't cut all that well surprisingly , but you get there eventually. I've used them on the bottom of nut slots , and ...

G'day Serge, I have hung on to all the wood I have salvaged from not only this piano but others as well . Some of it will make great brace wood. The action and keys are usually made from Swiss Pine on these type of German pianos . Being seasoned for well over a hundred years , it should be good stuf...

O.K Kim ,here it is for those who haven't seen it before. My over the top thickness caliper. Mad ! ,I know , but it works flawlessly and I can recalibrate it should it be required. (Haven't so far ) http://www.mcguitars.com.au/phpBB2/userpix/5_cal_olf1_1.jpg There's actually much more function to it...

Sharpening Bench
I have found it useful to have a dedicated sharpening area in my workshop . This encourages me to keep my edges keen ,even whilst in the middle of an operation , rather than have to clear an area and interupt my process. I use the 'Scary Sharp ' method ( glass plate ) I bet you can't tell what I mad...

To hold the guitar steady and yet leave enough clearance for the bearings to register against the sides , I have made this platform which holds the instrument very firm: http://www.mcguitars.com.au/phpBB2/userpix/5_anz51_1.jpg To complete the ledges at the neck pocket end , and on tight cutaways,I u...

My Binding Jig
Because of the interest shown in binding jigs here of late ,I've put together a few pics of my jig I made a few years ago , I got my basic idea from the Jim Williams book ,but have made a number of changes. Arnt has one similar as well. I have stuck with my dremel as the power source ,so as to not m...

That looks to be way cool Alan ! Now that I see the bridge with the saddle in it , I'd be concerned with the 6th and 1st pin holes being so close to the saddle . Kim, that is some beautiful work there mate . I really LOVE that inlay ! Well done mate . This guitar is going to be very special ! Cheers...

I got absolutley nothing done until yesterday . My brother in law died suddenly of a heart attack last week and so, was away from home all week. Yesterday I changed bandsaw blades , and gave the machine a good overhaul and set up. What a difference ! I get my blades (Swedish ) from Henry Bros. Saws ...

Maybe I'm missing something here , and you guys already know of Hiscox cases . They are made in England by a Luthier who became pissed off with all the cases available. You can stand on these !! . Their blurb says the lid can take around 180 pound . They are heavily insulated ( a bit like an Esky )....
