Re: Any Good Pickup Winders In Oz You Can Suggest :)
Hi to all, I don't know if this guy winds pickups as a service outright. I have read through the website and I can see he obviously has the equipment and extensive abilities to do the job. Only way to know for sure is to email/message the guy I suppose... http://www.kinman.com/index.php I am sure so...

Re: What is wrong with this Martin Guitar
This, I believe Gentlemen, is one of the contributing factors to Martin Factory's overall control of product. Firstly, an interesting little article on a loop hole through China that lets these guitars materialise onto our markets. (Yes, I have seen Chinese made Brand-name "Marked" or "Branded" inst...

Re: Newbie here!
Thanks for replying guys, I went back in to face the damage and my lecturer (instrument maker) had taken upon himself to fit the rosewood strips around the back and complete the repairs. I could not thank him enough. He has affected a very nice repair job indeed. Even matched the grain edge to edge....

Re: Newbie here!
Yeah, I know I can only make my first guitar once! It is a bit of a thrill when it all goes to plan, but the inevitable mistakes bring me crashing back to reality. That back and sides were looking great until the TAFE router dropped it's guts 15mm into the back of my guitar when making the groove fo...

Re: Anyone Know anything about this guitar
I have seen one of these Harmony electrics in Adelaide Australia, garish green colour, been sitting there in the shop for years. Still there now... Nice to play, but the guy wants $3500 for it, dreamin... I have a 1960 Harmony Sovereign Jumbo acoustic, made in the U.S.A, picked it up for $350. This ...

I am PHP bb hopeless, please help!
Hi to all, I want to post images up here on the site of my guitar build for your perusal. I use another PHP site and have had no success using the toolbar provided on the screen where I draft my posts. When one is attempting to post an image I assume I use the "Img" button, but I get no directory/fi...

Re: Radiused Dishes
Sorry guys, Showing my inexperience here I know. I am very new to this but committed to it for the long haul (health permitting). I am certainly not going to arrive on here and start telling Grandma how to suck eggs. Really keen to sit back, read, watch and learn from a group of people who are FAR m...

Re: Radiused Dishes
Hi to all, I have to make a couple of Radius dishes soon. The tips here will be most helpful. I went to a seminar at The International Guitar Festival in Adelaide in this year to hear Luthier Jim Redgate (http://redgateguitars.com.au/) talk about his radical guitar designs and some of his building t...

Newbie here!
Hi to all, My name is Ben. I am currently building my first acoustic guitar at TAFE in South Australia. I have been playing for 20+ years, so it was well overdue that I started work on my first instrument at last, something I have always wanted to do. I look forward to becoming an active member of t...
