its not just a matter of contracting Bovine diseases with cow bones. Like previous post says, its bad for your lungs, and wearing a mask would help stop the stink i expect.

quick update here

I've spent all weekend looking for somewhere that sells mahogany locally

as of yet, no luck. even guitaraust.com.au is outta stock. so at the moment, the project is on hold until i can find somewhere :(

hey, i've been looking for a place that sells mahogany and other tonewoods in my area

tried the yellow pages, but nothing really.

Does anyone know of somewhere close to Dandenong that sells mahogany?

never heard of Carbatec... I'll look that one up

I've already planned to have a set neck that im going to make myself, and i know I'll need these tools because i want to bevel the body. Plus, they were cheap :P

ah cool, I was worried because their body blanks are cheaper than other places, however it's the only place I can find mahogany. Being on a tight Uni budget, I'm hoping to pull this off for a few hundred :P

With the tone pots, do i drill the hole so the tone pot screws in, or drill it wider so it just slides in (theres a nut that can secure it).

well for starters i have a few very amateur sounding questions 1) how do you ground the electronics on a tune-o-matic bridge 2) what distances should the neck/bridge humbuckers and the bridge saddles be from the nut (in an 24 3/4 scale 22 fret) 3) I want to do perspex inlays for the fretboard marker...
