I love the contrast of the maple neck. Excellent work! Do you find Maple hard enough for a fingerboard?

Re: Factory machined or Handcrafted?
Wow that laser cutter looks like fun =) Definitely a boutique factory concept going on here. Kindof like fender custom shop i guess with made to order guitars, that can be customised. My own opinion is that I like to work with the wood by hand as it is a hobby for me. I can see that if you were buil...

Re: jb Guitars - Custom DC
Yes very clean and crisp! Amazing finish! Is the droptop fiddleback blackwood? How long did it take you to learn to get a finish like that? I'm thinking of building an electric in the near future and the spray finish seems to be difficult. I've only built one acoustic and used oil as a finish which ...

Re: Huon Pine
.It could have been along the lines of: We have made all this noise about suing ur arse and now as a result, your share price has dropped. How about you stop making the knock offs and we will buy all of your stocks for amount X being $2 a share above the current market. That way your share holders ...

Re: Huon Pine
Hi guys, An interesting thing about Vester is that they were the squashed by Fender for being a 'sound alike' fender and even using the same type font for their logo. I don't think the plywood ones would have been sound alike though =). The law suit was settled out of court with Vester selling all i...

@Craig - Definitely keen to have a chat. I've sent you an email @ Billy T - I understand what you are saying definitely. But there is a limit to speed, tone, when playing on an instrument that is poorly setup. To me for example Player A has a well setup guitar - He can play a piece without too much ...

DADGAD is a nice tuning. But learning all those new shapes for chords...grrr =) Another one i find amazing is DAEEAA It just has a wonderful sound.....especially the harmonics at 7th and 12th frets. What are your opinions on fanned frets. Do you think its worth the trouble to keep intonation when lo...

Thanks for the replies guys. Great advice! So far i tend to only tune as low as D on the 6th string. Mostly DADGAD. I have gone down to B though occasionally. I usually run medium gauge 0.013-0.056 but am trying light gauge at the moment 0.012 - 0.053. It seems alright but just doesn't have that nic...

How would you set the action for this player.
Hi guys! I'm only new to the forum and I'm almost up to setting up my first build. I'm really only learning guitar and haven't experimented too much with guitar action, or played on many different guitars so i have no feeling for this. Mostly i play fingerstyle pieces such as those from Michael Hedg...

I've heard of some people actually getting to hear the famous "paper" back and side Torres. Maybe you can ask? you never know your luck! In terms of the city I didn't think Barcelona was that good. Extremely tourist based. If you have time (10 days you might be able to fit in a side trip) then i rea...
