Re: Work Bench and Gobar Deck

Thanks for posting this. I had meant ask you for pictures when you mentioned this on the OLF. Very clever.

Dennis, By now you should have some Uni-bond  If I already had it (as you might) I would chuck the Titebond 3  and use the Uni. Very heat resistant. I know, I just had some veneered furniture survive a house fire. Extreme heat and dryness followed by extreme moisture. (Fireman's dousi...

No, it's water soluble. Use a little dish detergent and water followed by plain water.

Wash first, then sand. If you sand first you are just spreading the blush around.

How cool is that. What is really impressive is unlike a lot of " 4 hands guitar" these two are interchanging and mixing their right and left hands.
Thanks Rick

You can also cut those screw/ bolts with a interesting little tool. I am trying to remember the name. Ah, I think it is called a hack saw. Of course if the screw or bolts are hardened you might have to use the butt check method but personally I don't like anything that is described as hard or has th...

PostPosted: Tue Oct 13, 2009 7:14 am Post subject: I thought that exact ratios were to be followed and the best way to do this is to mix by weight with some accurate digital scales and refering to the manufacturers recommendations. This is particularly true for small quantities where it is easy to ...

I agree with Kim. Adding more hardener is not a good idea. You will likely get soft epoxy with uncured hardener in it and the hardener is the biggest offender for toxicity. Doesn't matter how much hardener you add or don't, you will still be exposed to the stuff when mixing and when it is curing. Al...

Bled through isn't a problem. I use thin card board as a caul. Most of the bleed through gets absorbed by the card board and makes a few localized areas of paper and glue that is on the wood but it is easily sanded off. Has absolutely no effect on the finish. When I say it sand off easily I mean rea...

Hi Mike and hello to all. I have been lurking for a while and decided to comment on this topic. I have a lot of experience with both epoxy and urea formaldehyde glues. I think UF glue is a much better choice for your application. Of the UF's I think Uni-bond to be the best. Advantages of UF over epo...
