I said, I'm not a good enough luthier to ensure you get a good sounding guitar in that style

Re: Decals

The laser engraving/nail polish method looks interesting. I should be able to do that with my CNC by using the same tiny bit I use to cut my logo. That opens up a lot of possibilities, just need the time to program and debug some of the possibilities. Once done though I can make as many as I like. ...

Violin Luthery

I think that this Video will be appreciated by most here in this Group.

Love the way it is presented, just the sound of the Tools, and no distracting background Music.

The order of things ...

I've always wondered why Luthiers don't put the Fret Wire in and Trim/File the Fret Ends before gluing the FretBoard to the Neck? Serious Question as that's the way I do my Ukuleles. I Build & Finish the Body, Carve the Neck, Fret the FretBoard & join to the Neck, Fettle as required then Finish. I t...

Re: Baritone Ukulele Strings

Thanks Allen.

Baritone Uke Strings seem to be hard to come by at a reasonable price in NZ.
Do you have a supplier in Oz? If so, at what cost per Set?

Murray.

Re: Tenor Ukulele - Tiger Myrtle / King Billy

Just a quick observation; That T-Nut in the Solera where the Sound Hole is, should be on the other side of the Board. This is so the Nut digs into the Timber under compression. If you put too much tension on yours, it will pull out.

Re: Best way to repair bent sides?

Can anyone explain why a Ukulele should be tapered? Is there any Acoustical reasoning behind this, or is it just traditional? . They do not need to be and many traditional ukulele's are not. I think the tapered sides on a tenor looks better. It matters less to me with a soprano or true ukulele. I m...

Re: Posting to NZ

You will need a Customs declaration to get it through the NZ Border.

Just the usual description of; Processed, Treated Timber, no Insect Infestation, Bark, or Knot Inclusions ... about it really, apart from CITES if it applies.

A balalika next?

I don't want to hijack the OP's Thread, but each and every Instrument I have made, (this is #17), has something different that I haven't done before, just to push my Skill-Set further. First one as a Balalaika, and first Classical Style Bridge.
