Some very interesting reading guys, I thought I would leave this post with one more opinion. I would like to reinforce the fact that guitars are for musicians (mostly guitarists) and yes they come in all shapes and sizes, some never leave the lounge room, some record, and some perform, oh yes and so...

My commenst below relate to comments by Rick Turner Its dead right about the misicians deciding on what is best, it is also the misicians who drive the market and pricing for instruments, Supply and demand. John willliams plays a smallman, but only since Smallman listened to what it was that john wi...

I dissagree with the notion that someone who purchases a somogyi guitar is a living room guitar player and a collector, Listen to some cd's of whindam hill, great music, great artists and great instruments, some of which are somogyi guitars, I understand your comments about projection, but his philo...

Sounds like a bit of envy going on here or is it tall poppy syndrome? Why is it that in Australia we like to find fault with those who become very successfull, the negative comments are not very useful they are opinions, we all have opinions, but sometimes we should keep them to ourselves. Yes the b...

every thing waddi and Hesh said, Hesh put it to a tee, the 2 are really needed, and i agree he is not describing how to build a Somogyi Guitar, take the lessons and make it your own. That is my intent.
I bought the 2 as a set and was fortunate to get a signed copy of each :D

Hanibach (not sure of Spelling) make guitar strings with red Trebble, they are really good. They are medium tension strings. The red ones are specifically for flamenco sound, however i also have used them on my Classical guitar for a slightly brighter tone

I noticed you have 2 holes left in the bridge slot, does this affect the sound, I thought the aim was to get as much contact from the saddle to the bridge as possible. Refer to Extract By E Somogyi "The saddle, in addition to helping to create the strings’ downward push, is an important coupling m...
