Re: Walnut bend
When I bend sides on my bending machine generally temperature is set around 280 to 300 degrees F. Once the side bend is completed I reset the temperature controller to 260 degrees F and let it cook for 15 minutes. Then I switch the temperature control off and let it cool down to room temperature bef...

Re: Installation of the LR Baggs Hi Fi and Lyric Microphone Custom Blend System on new Guitar Build
Here is more information to consider when installing the 'LR Baggs Hi Fi and Lyric Microphone Custom Blend System' in a Martin D-18, 1939 Authentic with a through Saddle. The Martin D-18 Authentic has a Narrow Bridge Plate, Rearward 'X' Brace and an oversized Tail Block. For a correct installation o...

Re: Fretboard shaping jig
This fretboard jig looks great and these type of jigs are very good. In 2023, I posted another method using a special shaped router bit set up on my router table. "Radius the Fretboard using the Router Table". It also works very well and is quick once you have set it up. A number of various radius r...

Another great guitar builds. Blackwood looks great!.
Does the guitar sound better only using two pickups sensor disks or would three sensor disks be better.

Re: Shop listening recommendations
I like the thought to clean up and sharpen tools in the workshop. However, for me I am aiming to keep ahead with a new guitar build for a client that is scheduled to start in January 2024. I have made a start and at the moment am making the laminated falcate primary and secondary bracing for this gu...

Re: Installation of the LR Baggs Hi Fi and Lyric Microphone Custom Blend System on new Guitar Build
There has been some interest in my Custom Blend System. I now have an order from a musician in the USA with a similar playing style to Tommy Emmanuel. I will be assembling the Custom Blend System and shipping it to my client who has arranged for installation by a luthier in his new Martin D-18, 1939...

This a great loss also to me. Their range of general and special items that LMI have grown was great. I will miss not being able to purchase some of their quality products that will now be harder to find elsewhere.

Installation of the LR Baggs Hi Fi and Lyric Microphone Custom Blend System on new Guitar Build
On a previous posting: ‘Pickup for falcate classical or steel string by JurgenV, 19th April 2023’ , I indicated that on my next guitar build that I would be installing the new ‘L R Baggs Hi Fi Pickup System’ and the ‘L R Baggs Lyric Microphone’ together as a customised blend system. I have now compl...

I am also familiar with the no money problem. I repaired, restored and fitted new strings to a very old Maton classical style guitar. I trusted the client, however, after sending the invoice three times over a three month period of grace I never got paid. I learn my lesson about how to handle the mo...
