Introduction and questions
Hi I am a returning forum member who built a guitar a couple of years ago and was helped a lot by the kind members of this forum. I now am involved in some research about craftwork and I am using guitar building as a case study. Can anyone tell me how many members there are on this forum and how man...

Binding Finishing
Hi
Can anyone tell me how to treat plastic bindings in the finishing process? I have just completed glueing the bindings to the body and have some glue marks on the plastic. What do I do to clean and polish them?

Weld on cement
Hi all I am still finding my way through this guitar kit and it seems that at every turn there is a problem to solve. I must say though that this is not a bad thing but one that is stimulating in a frustrating way. My latest problem is finding an appropriate substitute for theweld on cement StewMac ...

Go-bar Deck
Hi Folks
Happy New Year. I have a question: Apart from StewMac, where can I get locally made go-bars? I have a ready made space so do not need to build from scratch.

Re: Molds
Thanks all.
Graham I am particularly interested in your multi purpose mold. Do I take it that this has a dish built in or is it flat?
Jim.

Re: Guitar Mold
Thank you Graham and thank you Allen. I appreciate your advice and will give the whole process some thought. I have looked at different designs in the books and get put off with this point abount 15' and 25'radius boards required to construct a dome on the top and bottom or are these not needed in f...

Flat top guitar mould
Hi I have noticed on some of the pictures posted on this and other forums the different types of guitar body moulds used by builders. I have begun my first guitar build which is a kit from Stewart Macdonald and while I am happy with this basic approach I am now thinking about the next project. Do yo...

Hi
Is there anywhere in Australia where I can buy routing cutter bearings? If yes what range of sizes do you recommend?

Re: Finish Spruce top
Thanks all for your interesting responses to my initial enquiry. I have read about the egg white technique in this forum, but sweat salt Mmmm? As I mentioned earlier this is my first build and it is proving to be a process of wins and losses (and a lot of sweat). However, you do learn a lot from jus...

I was wondering if anyone can advise me on how to prepare, seal and finish my sitka spruce top? With limited research I am led to understand th...
