Re: London luthier

They're not luthiers but given the fact that they had lots of vintage Martins and Gibsons as well as heaps of e...

I don't think any back that is running off the quarter on the outer edges could be called AAAA.

I'm retiring
Hi Everyone I'm retiring from luthiery on July 12th. Why July 12th? Well, the property on which my workshop resides has been sold and the new owners are moving in on that day. The strength in my hands has also deteriorated to the point where I feel it's dangerous to be around sharp things that rotat...

Re: Interruption coming up
Everything's been rolled over. Speed test indicates I'm now getting 100MB up speed which is about twice as fast as it was before so I'd be interested if anyone see's an improvement in responsiveness of the forum.

I think tomorrow may be the day we swap over to the new plan so the forum may become unavailable for a short period.
Please sand by and create sawdust in the interim.

Emails are now working again
Hi Folks Emails can now be sent from the board. There was a change in the security settings of a new version of PHP, which is the programming language with which the forum is programmed, which restricted where emails could be sent. I've hacked some lines of code in the email send functions of the fo...

Re: Interruption coming up
Looks like it'll happen later this week.
Got a text saying that an inspection would occur on the 9th to see if the premises is suitable for a cable connection. WTF. I've had an existing cable connection here for 15 years.

Interruption coming up
Hi Everyone There may be interruptions over the next few days as I'm swapping the internet service to a business plan. This will mean getting a new IP address which I will have to update in DNS. (Domain Name System) It can take up to 48 hours for the new DNS entry to propagate around the planet so i...

Re: Weissenborn
I've changed the bracing pattern Weissies to reflect my practices with 6 string guitars. I've also used the traditional bracing and the Christmas tree bridge. Both have worked out fine and they are all still in shape after a few years stringing up. I think Dave White might have done one with really ...

I used Davis pearl glue in the 80's . It was all you could get back then. Seemed to work ok.

Re: Forum Software Update
Hi Mark
I had the drop down menus as well the first time I logged on.
Clearing the browser history, then log out then log in again seemed to fix it.
My clock is OK. Check the settings in your profile.

Forum Software Update
Hi Folks I've updated the forum software this morning so a few things might appear a little different but at first glance it looks much the same. If you find something isn't working post it here and I'll see if I can fix it. You'll notice that I've removed most of the vendor forums. A lot lot of the...
