I like the NG Rose Wood looks great and also smells great ,I think as a neck it needs a laminate nice choice all round .BW speaks volumes ,would agree a real camera makes the dynamic difference .

That's a rare piece of wood for sure ,did we not have a secret grove of ancient pine here in OZ that went quiet .I had a good laugh the other day when reminded of the hateful eight guitar wreckin fiasco just a bit a wood with Martin written on it .

I use a scribe and chalk as an indicator for the lines marked helps my old eye sight
the cut off brads work well i feel ,nice explanation Mr simso.

Nice one I have a similar set up ,I get close to the thickness shoot the fret slots in and sand radius on the belt they are extremely accurate .

I have some small pieces used it for Inlay it has a long fiber unlike many other species Indians used it for Bows for that very reason .Should make a resonate back I guess.

Run a scale through to the bridge pick the harmonic points ,that's what fender and others used.

looks to me 6mm you could try all thread ,I made these for the Dremil works the same I guess those US guys use some pretty weird imperial threads you know 64 thousand 64 ths :lol

Yep all relevant ,me just enjoy your work all the instruments and related gear on here are as good as it gets .I read an old fiddle maker said I have not made my best Instrument yet and he may never that's it rite

I use a free eps converter AI eps stick em in a folder ,open the program select the folder output format and bingo you got the ,bmp ,jpeg giff ,tiff, and png .From that you can convert into dxf or open with a modelling program Vectric i believe does it and off you go .There is also a version of cad ...

My take on Vac molding these was there is very little room for error 0.8 leaves no real margin. If you have a slight bump ect you cant repair.

What thickness are you going to make the plates should be interesting the Nomex is a pretty cool stuff sound will be different for an archtop may be better

A while ago I saw a guy in the us bought the rites to make some old planes and was casting the silicon bronze realy nice gear ,remembering buy once you got it for life if you look after it .

I have a couple of old Stan's refirbed by me ,Garrett and Wade used to have an outlet here no more sad to say ,take a look at their website they have some cool stuff .I like scrounging for stuff that is a great option as the guys here will tell you it's for life a good quality tool.
