Re: bandsaw opinions

Why dont you look at the larger units at Hare and Forbes. I have the BP430. Its awesome. You can do almost everything with that including resawing at the same cost of the laguna. The only restriction with the 430 is it wont take really small blades. I think the smallest blade is 1/4". They are also ...

Re: Diamond Sharpening Stones

I use a coarse/fine DMT diamond plate for flattening blade backs mainly, also for flattening my water stone. I use a bench grinder to hollow grind my chisels and plane blades which makes it easier and much quicker to hone. After you grind you don't have to hone the whole face of the blade. After the...

Re: DIY Sig Gen/Amp unit for Chladni patterns

Hi Trever

Im very keen to learn more about this too.
I have built a few guitar amps in the past so I have a bit of gear.
I don't have a scope (I have always wanted one) but I may have an excuse to buy one now.

Re: Dremel or trimmer

Thanks again for the replies. I do like the sound of the Makita trimmer. I have a Makita router and I love it. Great router. If the trimmer is anything like the router I'm sure I'll be happy. Its also on special at the moment at Sydney Tools but I'm sure I can work something out with the boys at my ...

Dremel or trimmer

Gday all I am slowly building up my tool base to start building. I have just built a gobar deck and I'm in the middle of making some radius dishes. One of the things I need to get is either a dremel or a trimmer. From everyones past experiences which one is more useful. Or do I need both. I notice t...
