The place I buy my Mirotone from in Adelaide recommended (and sells) Farecla G3.

Seems to work well and buffs up to a nice shine.

Re: Elmer Guitar
So I didn't attempt to return it, but they refunded me the purchase, after I reached out to the company who manages their customer reviews, complaining about them deleting my review. Then elmerguitar emailed me (see below) and I had to laugh at the "misleading consumers" part... ************ We wou...

Christmas family gathering
Finally finished acoustics no 5 and 6 yesterday after 18 months.
I got them together with all my previous builds for a bit of a Christmas party before Santa delivers them to their new owners on Christmas morning ! (5 & 6 are the two outermost ones on the stands).

PNG Rosewood & Silver Quandong D28
My 4th acoustic build. Previous builds were done at TAFE using their tools and machinery. This one done entirely in the garden shed, hence why it's taken me two and a half years to finish, what with making jigs, acquiring tools etc. Still a few mistakes made along the journey with lots of lessons to...

Thanks all,
After a couple of calls this morning, Central Saw and Knife Works here in Adelaide are able to increase the bore size for me.

Re: StewMac fret blade arbor size
Ok I thought it was other way around. A machine shop should be able to machine the blade hole out to 20mm. Thanks Martin, If only it were that easy :-( I actually have the opposite problem to that, the arbor on the blade is 5/8" and the spindle on the saw is 20mm so the arbor needs to be larger on t...

G'day again, Two questions in one day, hope I'm not exceeding my quota :D Just shows that during the lock-down I'm finally making progress on the now 2 year acoustic build. I bought the Stew Mac table saw fretting blade ( https://www.stewmac.com/Luthier_Tools/Types_of_Tools/Saws/Fret_Slotting_Table_...

What, if any, are the issues with importing wood from overseas? Any problems with customs etc.?

G'day folks, been a casual observer for a while and this is my first post so be gentle :) On my next project I have a binding strip down the back with a white strip either side. The back binding will be the same strip so the white on the back will match the back strip. I then want to continue the st...
