Wow!! That's an amazingly beautiful guitar. Well done. You also did a great job of photographing it.

Re: Merry Christmas
I don't have a partridge in a pear tree, but I did have a sparrow in my Christmas tree overnight!! The buggar was nestled in our wreath on the front door and flew into the house when I opened it. Right into the tree. I was able to shoo him out a window this morning and we're all recovering. :cl Merr...

Re: An Interesting Build (at least for us...)
Thanks, Kim. I've not been around much. My building came to a halt this summer because of the intense heat and humidity in Arkansas. So, I spent a good bit of the time building a climate controlled room inside my sweltering shop. Then a tree fell through the roof and I had to take care of that. Anyw...

Re: Snow in Christchurch
Thanks Lillian. Swamp coolers don't work in Arkansas, too much humidity. I don't even think you can buy one in the state. My home is a very comfortable 74. If anyone cares to know, a log home is very easy to heat and cool. I wish I had a log shop.

Man, that looks refreshing!! We are in about our 20th day in a row of heat index readings of over 110 F. I haven't been in my shop for 6 weeks.

Rod, that really came out nice!! The rosette looks great. Beautiful guitar and a nice tale to go along with it. Glad it worked out.

Re: Member Intro and a couple of questions.
Welcome, Jeremy What everyone else said. Addictive? :| My goal, when I started was three guitars: One for me and one each for my sons. So far I've completed 11 acoustics, 1 electric, and 1 banjo. I am currently bending sides for numbers 13, 14, and 15. One is an OM (custom order) and two are parlors...

THE perfect evening!!
I had a real treat last night. My son, who lives in Memphis, gave me tickets (for Christmas) to see Leon Redbone. Last night was the night and it was the most perfectly entertaining concert I've been to. I've been a big fan since he appeared on SNL back in 1975 and I try to do some of his songs in h...

There were probably several beer and burrito parties going on about that time. Seems like I do recall some kind of green haze over the city.

Hmmm, my earlier message didn't post either. That's a beauty!!! I love the rosette and the back purfling by the heel cap. Verrrrrry fine work.

They haven't released the official cause yet, which means the banjo hasn't been ruled out. My playing would certainly bring down a few.

Falling Birds
I thought maybe some of you guys down there might have seen the story on CNN about the thousands of blackbirds falling from the sky on New Years Eve over the little town of Beebe, Arkansas. I had nothing to do with it, but that IS where I live.

ME, ME, Me!!! I have dial up. They'll never get highspeed out in my neighborhood, although it is available about a mile away. I've been looking at an air card and going broadband but so far I haven't done it. It does keep me from seeing extensive pic posts and that is why I don't always comment on b...
