Hi I've only posted a couple of times.I'm looking to make a TRC using ebony,hence it won't be very big,but where can you buy Ebony in rough sawn state in New Zealand?.I can buy on Ebay, but I don't know if it's allow to come through customs.Then there would be clearances fee, duties fees,inspection ...

Hi Wood rat,I here what you are saying.I have seen a guy that is exporting useable furniture from Brazil,like bed heads and table tops and the like.

I was also curious why the Fiji as opposed to others available. Yes I'm aware that Fiji is meant to be grown as "true" mahogany, but the board lengths I have used from two different sources left me looking back at African Mahogany. The African was heavier to hold than fiji mahogany (yet is lighter ...

Sorry once again ,I have not made myself clear......
One style neck would be solid Sweitenia mahoagany 3'' BY 4'' BY 30'' I suppose you could get 2 necks out of that.I dont have a pictue of it.
And the second in Flamed/curly maple,Ebony,1/4 maple,ebony f/curly maple 5 piece lay up.

I can send paua freely to the states without restrictions,as long as its clean ,no meat or seaweed on it ,it can be sent. I see that Christian Drury is selling guitars with Paua seedlings in the rosettes in the USA and made of Kauri.

Sorry ,Yep from NZ.Fiji has plantation Sweitenia Macrophyllia that was planted after WW2 ,now being harvested. I've use real Hondruas once,on a superyacht.Its beautiful to work and sable as.I not really a fan of Sapele,My uncle had a reproduction furniture business making the "Queen Anne" stuff.Yeah...

Still doesn't really address biaisness on the North American side. So they can buy and sell within the market of the States of free trade with Canada and not have to do the paper work,but If I wanted to buy some I have to jump through hoops .I would like to buy some Brazilain rosewood or some Hondur...

I should add that it's for acoustic not electric ,and I want to include the heel as solid not laminated.

How can America and Canada freely buy and sell Brazilian rosewood and the true Mahoganies Sweitenia macophylla and mahagoni within the states but we can't seem to get any through the borders,seems one rule for the state and another for the rest of the worl...

Hi Trautsman here, I am a new member , been lurking around a bit.I am looking for source of sweitenia for necks,
a one piece.
And curly maple for a 5 piece neck, with two 2mm ebony laminates .
Hope there are New Zealand sources.
Any thoughts
