Re: Plastic Binding Gaps

I think epoxy putty would work pretty nice. Easily dyed and neat to work with, dries hard enough to get it to a nice shiny finish.

Re: the recycled tool box guitar

Love the hubcap ones, I seen Seasick Steve with his hubcap guitar on a TopGear DVD a couple weeks ago and started having grand ideas about making something similar by imbedding an old holden hubcap onto a solid body guitar, almost like a resonator bridge. Even have an 48/215 hubcap donated already.

Re: the recycled tool box guitar

New here so haven't seen any others of your instruments but sounds like I'm gonna like them all. I love re-purposing and recycling anything, just makes it so much better when you create instruments from it. Love the simple honest design and the recycled Martin throwback neck seems like it would've s...

Re: Old cars!

Cars and guitars just seem to go hand in hand. Some damn sweet rides up there, not on the same level but I'm currently driving this reasonably tidy TE Gemini Wagon: http://sphotos-g.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/269819_10150325184578714_4375729_n.jpg Whilst my dream car, 64 EH Panelvan, sits in dad's...

Re: Love this guy

Seeing that he has a 'Stockport' shirt on, and he has a very midlands accent, I do believe I have seen one of his creations in person while I was living near Stoke-on-trent. It was a very rudimentary 'Wang-caster' that I distinctly recall having a 'Wilkes guitars' decal on the head. Sat in a second ...

Re: Introductions - a polite request

Awesome to be here although I can't see this helping my jobsearching productivity.. I worked (read as: became part of the furniture) in an amazing traditional ale house near Stoke-on-Trent and was of course dubbed 'Bruce' since that is supposed to be a real aussie name, it quickly became 'Skippy' af...

Re: Whoa!...thats quite a collection!...

I can drool over a nice brazilian rosewood neck as much as the next guy but apart from that this entire collection does almost nothing for me. OTT figured tops, tacky inlays and 'limited editions ' or autographs and name drops.. I'm sure they all looked amazing hanging in her humidity controlled bas...

Re: Introductions - a polite request

I assume it's still good form to introduce myself here; I'm Skip, 24 was born in Wollongong. Moved to UK for 2 years 2007-09 and been travelling Australia since I got back from there. Currently living in Brisbane whilst my partner does a tattoo apprenticeship and makes me jealous because she's got h...
