There's runout in an MDF tree? How does that happen? Does it grow in a spiral like regular trees? I'm so confused right now!

Re: Semi-Hemispherical fret ends

Great tutorial Rod! It's good to see your approach. If I can make one suggestion towards marking on metal, after marking your cut with a sharpie, use a scale and a scribe to mark the edge of the fretboard and you can get within a couple of thousandth's of the actual edge and cut to a greater precisi...

If I can share an observation rather than make a suggestion, I was playing a guitar that had a horrible setup...probably the worst I've played. This due to the fact the heal was cracked allowing the neck angle to change, compounded with a very poor setup in the first place. At first, it was really r...

Nato (Nyatoh)

I've been looking for Nato! It's refered to as "asian mahogany". Kind of has a mahogany look to it but more yellow and lighter. Considering it's found more in the orient you southern hemisphere boys are a lot closer to it than I am. Do you guys know a source for it? It's for a repair I don't need a ...

The crash of 29 was far worse! In percentage, this is just a burp! But just like in the 20's the market "up and downed" all over the place until it crapped out. Ths is what most work'in men want though! You don't want a bunch of lazy speculators party'in it up! If you invested in 1960 to retire in 8...

Speculation, like everybody has seen through the 80's-90's destroys the value of money. Money is a representitive of labor, product, services. As speculation and rampant price gouging devalues the currency this represents less and less of what it's supposed too. Thus we see in pre war Germany a whol...

There aint much red spruce left, at least on private lands. It's pretty expensive and the mechanical properties are the best of all the tonewoods, strength/weight.

We need a law like that here too!! $160.00 fine of Ozzys don'...
