Guys, Those heating cartridges look like a good deal. Looked for some in NZ and from what I've seen they are at least double the price here. Seems like the Stewmac and LMI benders are solid billet with a tight fitting bore for the cartridge to fit into. Can anyone advise me if the cartridiges would ...

Thanks Lillian, I don't mind doing a little finishing on plane. I know from experience that LN and LV tools work great out of the box but, you know...dam recession. Even tried making my own but when I combine the angles, steel and tone wood it's hard to know if the finished finger plane is behaving ...

Hi Everyone,
Does anyone have firsthand experience with St James Bay luthier's planes?
I've done a couple of searches over the past few years and haven't really found much on them.
Kind of like how they look like they belong in a 18 century workshop.
