Re: An Australian Luthier in Paris

The acoustic music company in Brighton is definitely the place to go if you're in the UK. Just an hours drive south of London and crammed full of all the best handmade guitars around!

Re: the wood well

I bought a quilt maple B+S set from them recently - ordered by email. Beautiful wood! Shipping to the UK wasn't too unreasonable either.

Re: Utile guitar?

Thanks for the advice. The real reason for going cheap is that I’m a student (boatbuilder), so can’t afford anything else! My college has quite a big stock of both these woods, so I can get them for practically nothing. I got the top thickness from here: http://www.anzlf.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=2546...

I really like the idea of using commonly available woods for guitars, like the shed guitar (http://www.anzlf.com/viewtopic....

Re: The Improved Rosette Cutter

Yes Peter it will cut scrape out the rosette channel. Been trying some different blade shapes to get the best but at this stage it was a bearing on the outboard side of the cutter which has made the most difference. This makes for a great depth stop for both the scribing blade and the scraper blade...

Re: The Improved Rosette Cutter

Hi, I'm new here :D .
Does this tool cut the rosette, or simply scribe the edges? If it actually cuts it, I'd love one - looks much simpler than a router.
