The last bunch of uke necks I got were a little too narrow for my headstock template, so I decided to forego one neck to make ears for two others. I've just bent a pair of zebrawood concert uke sides, and thought I'd try a WRC top. Well I sanded my piece of cedar down to 1.6mm and gave it a tap and a flex. It was so light and fluffy I quickly realised it wouldn't take much to break it - or sand through it. Then I drew the centreline and outlin...

These locations are worth a try. Woodworking Warehouse in Braeside were out of stock when I tried them, and had to order some. I said "From Brisbane?". He said "No, Sydney". The label reads: Woodworking Warehouse P/L, SB-900900 Travel Belt, Performax 10/20, 260MM x 815MM 100GRIT $40.00 Cheers Hip.

There's also the KTM-9 water-based brushing lacquer from LMI.

I haven't tried it yet, but apparently its safer than solvent based lacquers, and can be shipped to Australia.
